Patterson Electronics Ltd., a Belfast based company covering the UK and Ireland, have been in the mobile communications business for over 50 years. Formed in the late 1960’s as a message handling service, with users having the option of renting a two way radio to facilitate checking for messages, the company has grown to become a one-stop mobile communications supplier covering the whole of the Island of Ireland, UK and beyond.

We are Motorola’s sole Gold Reseller in Northern Ireland. We also hold dealerships for Hytera, Kenwood, Entel and Icom two-way radio products and represent the major manufacturers of associated radio products. We are specialists in bespoke systems design and implementation.

Quality Service

Patterson Electronics Ltd. were the first mobile communications Company in Northern Ireland to attain ISO9000 and DTI Radio Quality Assurance Scheme certification for all aspects of our business. We are also the first, and only, local mobile communications Company to convert this to Radio Quality Council Silver Award Scheme certification.

Patterson Electronics Ltd. were the first, and are currently, the only mobile communications Company to gain FCS1331 certification for the design, installation and maintenance of two-way radio systems.

Meet The Team

Directors

Ian Culbert, Sales Director

Ian spent 8 years with BT’s Business Systems Group before joining Patterson Electronics in 1989. He oversees the company’s sales function and his good working knowledge of mobile communications systems ensures that Patterson Electronics can deliver solutions for most customers requirements – large or small.

Edgar Maclaine, Technical Director

Edgar has a HNC in electronics and communications, and spent 15 years in the marine electronics industry before coming to Patterson Electronics in 1990. He oversees the engineering side of the business including scheduling repairs and installations, product evaluation, bespoke products and system design.

Finance and Admin

Bobby Currie, Financial Controller

Bobby joined the company in 2001 having been employed in accountancy for many years with companies including the Milk Marketing Board. Bobby oversees the full financial function of the company.

Christine Murdoch, Credit Control

Christine carries out the day to day financial function, raising invoices and chasing payment.

Michael Burton

Michael has been with Patterson Electronics since 1993 and is responsible for stock control, goods in/out and operation of the hire department.

Sales

Our Sales department’s remit is to recommend the product or service from our wide portfolio that best suits the Customer’s requirement, not what pays the best commission!

Technical

Chris O’Hara

Our technical staff are initially recruited for their previous technical training and experience. They are then further trained, either by our suppliers or internally. They can program, maintain and install the full range to an extremely high standard.
